If all else fails in the music world, have a reunion tour.
OK, so on Thursday night, within a few blocks’ radius we have Irma Thomas, the Soul Queen of New Orleans performing a gospel blowout at the Manship Theatre, and the finest country singer in the world George Jones performing over at the River Center.

I only made it to the Sunday installment of the tenth-annual Voodoo Experience this weekend, missing Nine Inch Nails CGI apocalypse and the time barrier being ignored by Lil Wayne, but I did have a near-perfect rock festival day.
This week, our fair city and its stages are set to be inundated with a number of masters of their individual art forms.
