Get Involved

Baton Rouge is changing for the better. You can do your part by getting involved in the community. Here are links to get you started.

No easier way congratulate or complain about 225 than by writing the editor.

Letter to The Advocate

You can join public debates in the local paper by sending a letter. A plus: The arrival of your two cents will make the opinion editor grumble, then laugh.

Write your public official

Got a beef or want to press an issue with your elected official? Visit the political headquarters at our sister site, BusinessReport.com. Enter some basic information to quickly e-mail your public officials.

Volunteer Baton Rouge.

Want to help the community but don't know where to get started? The helpful staff of Volunteer Baton Rouge can direct you. Since 1986 Volunteer Baton Rouge has been promoting and supporting volunteerism to enhance the quality of life in the community.

Forum 35

This group of young professionals is the reason the new bridge has lights. Forum 35 conducts projects year-around to create a better Baton Rouge. The young leaders help the needy, raise money for the community, put on the annual Reindeer Run — and have fun.

PlanBR.org

The Smart Growth movement in the region begins with Plan Baton Rouge, which helped to create the downtown revitalization plan and now is working with others to revive Old South Baton Rouge. At Plan Baton Rouge, you can satisfy your craving for urban planning.
